Doofus at 10 mths old , Just chillin in the sun . Doofus after playing with the hose pipe . Doofus at 11 mths old

Doofus is our male Dogue De Bordeaux ,he is 11mths old ,he has a great under bite dark in colour with no white .

With Doofus still young he is full of life ,always wanting a rough and tumble and running round with our other dogues,But come late afternoon he is all played out and crashes out for the rest of the day and evening either on the floor under my feet or next to me on the sofa .

Our Doofus is so adorable and has a very protective nature not just with his family but towards our other Bordeauxs too

When i go for a shower he is by the door ,i go upstairs for anything he follows ,i go to the garden to put out washing he lays on the decking till i come in .As far as our other Dogues ,Well what can i say ...? You can see for yourself from the picture on the home page how gentle, caring and protective he is .When Saffy Ann's puppies were born he would rush over to investigate every noise made and as soon as the puppies started to gain a little more independence Doofus was in there licking and cleaning up and make sure all was well ,giving Saffy Ann a well earned .rest .( unbelievable ..i know on both dogs parts ,but Saffy ann did allow Doofus in to watch over the puppies and doofus was more than happy to

take over .)

Doofus has a great nature ,when playing with Delilah he will allow her to think she has got him down on the floor and when he encouragers Delilah to play with a toy he will bring it up to her and place it under Delilah's nose and nudge the toy forward for her to play .

What more can i say about our Doofus ,he is gentle ,protective, exciteable, friendly ,loveing ,Boy and we all love him very much .

Chewing goes hand in hand with nipping in the sense that a teething puppy is always looking for a way to soothe his aching gums .In this

case , instead of chewing on you , he may have taken a liking to your favorite shoes or something else he should not be chewing .

Again realize that this is a normal canine behavior that does not need to be discouraged ,only redirected . Your pup just needs to be taught

what is acceptable to chew and what is off limits .Consistently tell him NO when you catch him chewing something he shouldn't and give

him a chew toy .Conversely , praise him when you catch him chewing on something appropriate .This way you discouraging inappropriate

behavior and reinforcing the desired behavior .The puppy chewing should stop after his adult teeth have come in ,but an adult continues

to chew for various reasons - perhaps he is bored ,maybe to relieve tension or perhaps he just likes to chew .That is why it is important

to redirect his chewing when he is still young .
